What's New!

To install Typist:

  1. Drag Typist anywhere on your hard drive that you would like. The "Applications" folder is a good place for it.
  2. You're done.
To add Typist to your dock:
  1. Drag Typist to your dock.
  2. You're done.
To use Typist:
  1. Double-click typist.
  2. Follow the instructions below to configure Typist.
  3. You're done.
To configure Typist:
  1. If the typist window is not visible, choose "Show Typist List..." from the "File" menu.
  2. Push the "New Entry" button.
  3. Enter a title for the new entry (that will appear in the menu).
  4. (If you'd like the item to be a divider, name it with a single dash, as in "-".)
  5. Enter the text for the entry that you would like to have typed for you automatically.
  6. Push "OK".
  7. You're done.
To have Typist type something for you from its menu:
  1. Typist must be running (with a triangle next to its Dock icon).
  2. Control-click or click-and-hold the Typist icon in the Mac OS X dock.
  3. Select an item you would like typed for you.
  4. You're done.
To have Typist type something for you without using your mouse:
  1. Typist must be running (with a triangle next to its Dock icon).
  2. From any program, type Control-T on your Keyboard.
  3. The Typist List will appear.
  4. Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, select an item you would like typed for you.
  5. Push "Enter" or "Return" on your keyboard.
  6. The text will be typed and the Typist window will disappear.
  7. You're done.
Preferences:
  1. Select "Preferences" from the Application menu.
  2. Push "OK" when you're done.
