To install Typist:
- Drag Typist anywhere on your hard drive that you would like. The "Applications" folder is a good place for it.
- You're done.
To add Typist to your dock:
- Drag Typist to your dock.
- You're done.
To use Typist:
- Double-click typist.
- Follow the instructions below to configure Typist.
- You're done.
To configure Typist:
- If the typist window is not visible, choose "Show Typist List..." from the "File" menu.
- Push the "New Entry" button.
- Enter a title for the new entry (that will appear in the menu).
- (If you'd like the item to be a divider, name it with a single dash, as in "-".)
- Enter the text for the entry that you would like to have typed for you automatically.
- Push "OK".
- You're done.
To have Typist type something for you from its menu:
- Typist must be running (with a triangle next to its Dock icon).
- Control-click or click-and-hold the Typist icon in the Mac OS X dock.
- Select an item you would like typed for you.
- You're done.
To have Typist type something for you without using your mouse:
- Typist must be running (with a triangle next to its Dock icon).
- From any program, type Control-T on your Keyboard.
- The Typist List will appear.
- Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, select an item you would like typed for you.
- Push "Enter" or "Return" on your keyboard.
- The text will be typed and the Typist window will disappear.
- You're done.
Preferences:
- Select "Preferences" from the Application menu.
- Push "OK" when you're done.
