SmartWrap for Macintosh FAQ

Return to Frequently Asked (and Answered) Questions →

I just installed SmartWrap, and when I launch Eudora it tells me that Plug-ins couldn't be loaded! What's wrong?

First, be sure you have removed all old copies of SmartWrap from your plug-ins folder. Next, reinstall the plug-in from SmartWrap's 'Install' folder'. Be sure to quit and re-launch Eudora after installation.

The SmartWrap™ icon in the Eudora toolbar appears to enable and disable as I move the mouse around on the screen. Is this a bug?

Well, something is definitely wrong. But this anomaly appears to be cosmetic only and appears to be a problem with Eudora™, not SmartWrap™. Identical behavior can be observed with the other Message Plug-ins when they are added to the toolbar, even those that ship with Eudora. This problem has been reported to Qualcomm.

My window goes blank after I SmartWrap™! All the text disappears!

Try scrolling up. Poorly wrapped messages that have a large amount of white space actually wrap correctly to a relatively small number of lines. If you are at the bottom of your message, and you SmartWrap™, chances are pretty high that you'll have to scroll up to see your text! The fact that the window does not scroll automatically is an anomaly in Eudora™.

Will my Windows registration code work with the Macintosh version?

No, the Macintosh and Windows versions of SmartWrap are two very different beasts. The two versions cannot use each other's registration codes. They must be purchased individually.

Does SmartWrap™ work on incoming AND outgoing messages in Eudora?

Yes.

I know that I can add SmartWrap™ to Eudora's main toolbar, but can I add SmartWrap™ to the message's private toolbar?

Not yet. But we may add this to a future release. Thank you for the suggestions! (To add SmartWrap™ to Eudora's main toolbar, command-click in the toolbar, and select SmartWrap from the Edit Menu.)
